Ian Ugarte is a passionate advocate for housing affordability and community-driven property development in Australia. As the founder of IanUgarte.com.au, he is dedicated to reshaping the housing landscape by introducing innovative, small-scale housing solutions that foster genuine community connections.
With more than 25 years of experience in the property industry, Ian has made it his mission to educate investors on sustainable, high-yield investment strategies while ensuring compliance with government regulations.
Ian co-founded Small is the New Big, an educational initiative that teaches property investors how to create better living solutions through housing diversification. He also leads High Income Real Estate System (HI RES), where he helps investors maximise cash flow through executive rentals, short-stay accommodations, HMOs and boarding houses.
Beyond property education, Ian is the founder of IC4 Developments, where he sources and invests in positive cashflow properties and Arkiboat, a company that builds architecturally designed houseboats. His expertise spans property development, mentoring, sustainability, strategic business growth and community-focused investments.
A highly regarded educator, Ian has served as a Head Teacher of Plumbing at TAFE Sydney Institute and was instrumental in developing a $6.4 million sustainable trade centre. His deep knowledge and leadership in the industry have earned him recognition as a National Plumbing Designer and Judge for WorldSkills Australia.
Ian is also a committed philanthropist and advocate for social change. He actively supports the Indigenous Marathon Project and various initiatives that aim to provide affordable and sustainable housing solutions across the country.
Through his work, Ian continues to challenge the status quo, demonstrating how smart property investment strategies can create a positive social impact while delivering financial success.
